These classes are dedicated to newcomers to judo. Student numbers are small and include high teacher/student interaction. In addition to covering basic judo techniques, we also assist students in developing core skills such as fitness, flexibility and co-ordination. Intensity levels are low to allow complete beginners to enjoy the classes, no matter what their base fitness level.
Students work towards their first belt grades as per the national syllabus of the Judo Federation of Australia (Australia’s Olympic body for judo). Once fitness and technical skills have been developed, students progress to the advanced level classes.
Monday & Wednesday 6:30 – 7:30
Saturday 2:30 – 3:30
These classes include competition style judo, high level gripping and technical work, randori (free practice) and groundwork. There is a strong emphasis on mutually beneficial training and care for training partners.
Advanced classes require a high level of fitness. Class work is designed to improve fitness to competition level if required.
