Club members Slawek Misiun and Martin O'Dea competed at the XVIII Australian Masters Games on Sunday 24th April 2022. Originally scheduled to be held in October 2021 and postponed to April 2022 due to covid-19, the event was a great opportunity for athletes over 30 years of age to compete.
The number of competitors was relatively low, however the quality of competition was very high with great skill and sportsmanship on display. Marty won gold in the -81kg division as well as the open heavy weight division. Slawek placed second in -100kg division. Andras Berta was also registered to compete however, was forced into covid-19 isolation and unable to attend the event.
